Any sane, rational person should already be aware of just how batshit crazy and hypocritical Trump Republicans are. This should include the few remaining Conservatives that for some reason still choose to be aligned with crazy; not recognizing that the Republican Party, whatever it was to them, has died the moment it embraced Trump. We’ve gone through a pandemic that could’ve been less worse, the rise of dictators (thanks to Trump’s love of the idea of being a dictator), an insurrection, now to a former president being officially convicted of crimes.
Will this be the last straw for some Republicans that decide that can no longer be aligned with a party that supports a convicted criminal? Just maybe, says this Político article. While California is undeniably blue, it still of course has Republican politicians in the House of Representatives. But some of these Republicans are politically fragile, perhaps attempting to keep enough distance from Trump and focus on real issues (deflection) just enough to not get replaced Democrat yet. The majority Republicans currently have isn’t much at all, and just having 6 districts turn blue would give Democrats a majority in the house.
Or not, if we are to believe nearly half of the country loves the idea of a convicted, criminal president.
