The Los Angeles Lakers have dismissed Darvin Ham as their coach today after just two seasons. Adrian Wojnarowski joins SportsCenter and gives details on the Los Angeles Lakers’ decision to part ways with head coach Darvin Ham after 2 seasons.
There have been persistent rumors for weeks about the dissatisfaction and frustration with the strategy, rotations, and leadership of the second-year head coach. After eliminating the Golden State Warriors in 6 games during last year’s playoffs, resigning most of their key players, and winning the inaugural mid-season tournament in Las Vegas there were high hopes in L.A.
In nine playoff games over two postseasons the Lakers won a grand total of 1 game against the defending NBA Champions, the Denver Nuggets. Additionally, King James was 100% non-committal to running it back again next year and I’m sure that caught the attention of everyone in the purple and gold. LeBron James does have the contractual right to opt out of his last year in L.A. I wonder how much the King is pulling the strings behind the scenes in LA-LA Land?
